I Dreaded This Moment

Ferguson. Missouri
Three months ago I said in my blog, “Do not be surprised if Officer Wilson is NOT indicted in the murder of an unarmed surrendering, Michael Brown!”, despite the many witnesses, the autopsy, and multiple shots.

Painfully I was right and on this night in America, justice was not served.

The State Prosecutor, Bob McCulloch abdicated his integrity and responsibility to do his job. The governor of Missouri, the mayor of Ferguson, the chief of police and the murder’s fellow officers and most of all, Mr. McCulloch threw a blinding veil over the eyes of justice. There are no words he can say, nor can the twelve people who deliberated all this time can say to justify this decision. This is a travesty and all we can do now is fight to insure that the killings cease.

My condolences go to the parents of this young man. But we do live in an unjust and clouded time. Just when we thought that there was some measure of progress in race relations, this decision will throw Black people and Black young men in particular, further into the abyss of terror and give every police officer in America a license to kill. Just place a “007” in front of their badge numbers for they are now condoned and verified obligators to shoot to kill Black people and avoid questions later.

Enough Said, I’m out!!!
