It’s a wonder that those “Black” conservatives that went on Hannity’s Fox news show recently, wouldn’t have gone on maybe, CNN or even HLN (bipartisan views)…. if they really wanted to explain themselves. But they chose to shill themselves on Foxnews.
Now I’m not against anyone who wants to join any political party, but when you join, you’re saying to the world “I believe in and support this party’s platform, its leader, ideals, methods of operation, and so on.
To me, that means you oppose all or most of the things liberals and progressives stand for, like, equal pay for women, a higher minimum wage, medical coverage for anyone who needs it, women’s right to choose her health care, saving the environment, higher and fair taxes on the rich and ultra rich, student loan improvement, reasonable gun control legislation (while you support the idea that some states believe that it’s necessary for all its citizens to have guns, so the States can prevent the Federal government from “taking away its rights” by force). You oppose legislation to fix our roads and highways, or producing better teachers and reasonable student loan options.
You support jerry-mandering voting districts, changing voting time and hours, and preventing citizens from voting by demanding stringent identifications and disenfranchising voters and busting public and private unions, allowing employers to pay less than a livable wage. You support firing civil service workers, and denying benefits to the unemployed, while the rich and ultra rich (which you are not a part of), amass huge amounts of money and profits, while paying inordinately low tax rates.
I could go on, but it’s time to ask the big question. Are you really there for you own self grandissement? Or just another lost clarence thomas/ “nut” allen west or superficial herman cain?
It seems to me that you, as a Black American, aware of the suffering middle class and poor people are going through these days, you would work toward a better life for each and every American, not just the fortunate few. Unless you are there to change the party (and those old white men do not think they need to change), you are delusional.
I am open to a fair discussion of your position; call me.
