I just came across this comment on a website; the writer commenting on the fact that the media, the government and others referring to people who are the result of interracial relationships (mostly African Americans and white people), as Black people.
“why does it always have to be a color issue? im gray i dont care what color anyone is its how you act &do You can be yourself its how you feel on da inside and the girl acts right she is gray whether her skin is white or black race should not ever be an issue we are all gray & we all bleed red”
My response is as follows:
I’ve been saying “gray” for years and it’s made a lot of people unhappy. I’ll continue to use the term since we are neither black nor white, but gray, brown, cocoa, coffee and so on.
White people created a system to separate people never considering that soon or later people would get together and most often white men have taken advantage of lovely enticing (innocently sensual), black women. How do you think all these “light skinned black” folks came from??
It’s in your face, you’re just blinded by the smile!
